So I have started to get in to photography a bit more.

Im sure I showed you fellas the star trail photos a while back, well I have done some of them surreal waterfall pics, well I tried anyway, there is a waterfall outside my office.

The camera I have is nothing fancy, a Canon IXUS 220hs, £130 about 6 months ago (when comet was still open!!!) but using the CHDK chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK you can get a lot out of a cheap point and shoot canon camera.

Anyone else into photography?

Luvly!!!

I take a lot of photos,but they're usually..
A) Of the cat
B ) Taken with whatever my most recent iOS device is, thus not exactly awesome.
C) filtered to buggery via Instagram!

So.. Yeah.. Not so much!

But I do like taking pics, though.

I swear someone in the future will invent an undo-instagram tool so people can get their pictures back to normal

Well it would seem I have landed my first photography gig.

only I dont have a suitable camera!

Father to the rescue, will beg/borrow/steal (probably rent) it off him, if it goes well I can buy one.

Cool picture!

soon as i saw it i instantly thought of "there was a rich man from Nottingham who tried to cross the river... What a dope, he slipped on a rope, now look at him shiver"

Which is ironic really since ive just spent the weekend in Sherwood forest!

Hope the gig goes well and you pull in some work, ive noticed a lot of coders do the photographer thing (Gfk and Steve Elliot)

What exactly does your first photogig consist of?! Sounds interesting!

so far it consists of photographing a band called TFB, 3 fat bastards. some real cool musicians, all of them old. My best mate's dad is a bass player, played with Hermans hermits and various other bands since the 60s, the keyboards/guitarist is fromt he same era but was also a record producer in Denmark for 15 years and the drummer was a session drummer in LA. Now they play the working mens clubs of the country!

I host a website for their mobile recording studio business, stage-side.co.uk, they are doing a gig local to me and need a photographer to take some snaps of the band for publicity and album art etc. As my mate new I wanted to get in to photography he offered me the job.

Just hoping to get hold of a camera with enough time to get used to how it works.

Nice! Good strong vocalist, too, which is something I'm particularly bitchy about.

Does anyone like time lapse?

I keep tinkering with a script on my camera (I can post if there is demand). It takes time lapse videos but adjusts for the sun coming up etc.

I didn't write it all but I have tweaked it a little.

This is my latest time lapse, www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvV5FvtpzPU

There'll be more snow later/tomorrow. I expect a timelapsed snowman or that result goes down a notch!

That second waterfall image reminds me of the tidal scene in the Windows 7 desktop wallpaper. Though yours looks better.
