Yeah, it's blitz's slow line drawing that's doing it. Comment out the line command to see the framerate shoot up.
Blitz3D has always been a bit rubbish at drawing 2D stuff. If you're using.. .. anything else.. worry less about<snip>

I think that might just be a Blitz thing.
You're drawing a lot of lines, and doing a lot of trig. .. for Blitz3d..
Soon adds up!!

OK, it seems to work, but I can't imagine why it would be son incredibly slow... I'm getting an out of this world 3fps from this.

Well, I don't have a car and Roosendaal is still between us,so it's still quite a hike.
Always odd to speak English to a countryman... Well, this is a public forum after all, folks... It would be rude to speak a language people don't unders<snip>

I typically make a sind() cosd() set of functions when I'm using rad-based languages.
My head works in sets of 45, like the angles on a joystick!!

I wish they would pass laws about sin/cos using degrees or radians 😤

Red Dwarf ''Special''?

18th October 2019

Info so far.

A 90 minute feature-length special has been written and the cast have already done a read-through.
Filming "starts" in November, and two audience sessions have been booked, so..
It'll be feature length, like Back To Earth, b<snip>

Yes, Bergen op zoom. Not that far away from you.

We were in the news recently(nos news) when they used a explosion on a atm machine. It was the one that I always use. Luckely there is another one next to it, this one was blown up a while ago also!

The line

Should be

(.. or at least, it works if you do that!! .. Might still be wrong!!)

Hi, introducing... Myself

"Next to Zeeland"? Somewhere in the region of Bergen-Op-Zoom? I live in Breda myself, but I won't go more exact than that on a public forum (for obvious reasons).

Yeah. Dwarf's never been good when dragged out, has it..

Hopefully, though, Doug knew going in that this would have to be a feature length.. in the past, it's always been a case of "and then it got longer.." whereas this is presumab<snip>

Coding in NIL

18th October 2019

Since it's a kind of Lua pre-processor it follows the Lua rules in arrays, and thus arrays start with 1. NIL actually doesn't process the arrays and completely leaves that to Lua.

myarray[1] = "Hello"
myarray[2] = &<snip>

Red Dwarf ''Special''?

Apparently its another feature-length special.... If it's anywhere near as good as Back To Earth, I'll give it a miss. I can't stand when comedies are slow and boring.

Looks pythony (in a good way!)

Does it start counting array indexes from 0 like most languages, or 1 like Lua? (Or either, like some BASICs!)

Word of the Week : Clever

Still haven't come up with anything particularly "clever", but I have started coding a chess game for Shoebox.. so.. um..
Does that count?
Guess it depends on how clever I can get it, in just a day and a half!!

Coding in NIL

NIL is a programming language I developed myself. Now it more acts like a pre-processor to Lua, than an actual language, however loads of things are significantly different from Lua.
A nice tool to experiment with NIL is [url=https://github.com/libs4nil/Q<snip>
