Afr0	I just watched Man Lab with James May on YouTube. Does anyone know if duelling is still permitted in the UK? rockford	I was assaulted at work by a patient a few years ago and one of the first things the police officer asked me when being interviewed was "Did you ask/invite him to assault you?" The officer stated that they have to ask all victims this question just in case the perp stated that the victim said "Well come on then" inviting violence, or something similar. If this is the case, the police won't take matters any further. Sooooooo... I would expect that any competition where people take a pop at each other are seen to be authorised by the participants (eg boxing, wrestling) and so the police probably wouldn't be involved and certainly wouldn't take it to court. However there would still be rules about what is and isn't acceptable within that activity. As for duelling - I doubt that is legal with anything other than a spud gun nowadays!

I think the safest thing would be for both participants to sign a document beforehand.
