I don't think it's properly out yet, I heard it was comming out in 1 or 2 days time. That's why it's only on the ftp server, and not on the proper FF download page.

I think I will wait for the official release, but thanks for the heads-up Spare.

I've upgraded. Seems a tad faster, not as fast as the beta I was trying a week ago, but otherwise it seems exactly the same.

|edit| Actually it's so similar, I'd suspect this release is bogus. There are no new UI features, and again speed difference is possibly so minor it's just a placebo effect. |edit|

What OS are you running JL235?

Windows. I'm not saying the release is fake, I just don't reackon this is the final release build.

I just get the strong impression everything new must be turned off by default, or it's an amazingly trivial update.

Ugh, yeah, Firefox 5 update notice popped up today... what happened to sensible version increases, e.g. where's Firefox 4.1?

I don't have page_speed anymore (unsupported), and it crashes more often.

So far that's all I've noticed.

Apparently we can expect Firefox 6 & 7 this year.

I hate this. I have to update a number in /etc/apt/sources.list on Debian every time they bump the version (first world problems!).

I will try and not move to 5.

I reading that others are having problems on windows 7. I never asked for 7 but it came with machine.

I still run windows XP for the rest of my equipment.

I've updated and kinda wish I hadn't bothered. It's exactly the same but now the Google toolbar doesn't work on it
