Civilization!!!

I managed to fix my old external/USB floppy drive, so first thing I did was grab all four floppy disks that the first Civilization game came on.

Any later version (Civ II to Civ IV, that yuechy 3D one) comes nowhere close to how amazing this original one is.

The windows port of this version is no good either. Here it is, the original:

I also found my old floppy of Operation Just Because. This still stands as the greatest battleship game ever written. By today's standards, you'd have to have fully raytraced battleship cutscenes for every move to match the quality of this game.

So if a torrent of either of those two incidentally coincidently accidentally becomes available online... *cough cough*

So, granted there were to be an incident coincidence accidentally available online, which tracker would it possibly be incidentally coincidentally accidentally available at?

This site appears to believe the game is Abandonware, whereas Abandonia and Home-of-the-Underdogs believe it's not allowed.

I'd side with the latter.

"SoCoder does not condone the use of dodgy looking sites that host files online because they hold the belief that they're doing the right thing by holding an archive of things they don't own."

(But.. You know.. .. If it's there.....)

I drew up plans to make a DS civilisation-esque game a few weeks back... I say esque since I suck at graphics and probably wouldn't get round the all the city micro-management XD
I really liked Civ II, probably would have liked Civ I more but I only had access to the SNES verison, which while adequate, frankly wasn't that great.

I started playing civ with civ III, and also play civ IV. I actually thought III was better than IV in many ways, but IV grew on me the more i played it.

*cough* It definitely won't show up on mininova marked as "Civilization (Original 4 Floppy Disk Edition)" when I don't upload it at some point that isn't tomorrow sometime... (To narrow down any accidental searches, make sure you haven't clicked on the "games" search tab)

Off to bed for now though - knackered... Managed to get to Alpha Centuri though

Close one though. The germans had a gazillion battleships parked outside all my cities.

Seems like my Ultimata Underworld floppys are dead, but I did find my old QBasic stuff!

I still can't beat my Naughts and Crosses program.

|edit| Still hunting for Commander Keen and Catacomba Abyss (arguably the best first person game *ever*) |edit|
