Bought a mini 8'' 4:3 lcd monitor

I bought a new monitor. This time a tiny 8" model in 4:3 aspect ratio.

It replaces a second hand one of similar size that's more than 15 years old. The old one has limited inputs (vga and AV) and has decided it doesn't like the signal from my mini pet (which to be fair may not be giving the most robust output) and it's got to the stage where it flickers and rolls a bit too often to ignore now.

So the new one seems good. Well built and hopefully will last.

Has the AV inputs for my mini pet. Looks fine. I'll be able to hook up my (real) ZX81 to it too.

Has the vga input, not got anything to connect to that. But also has hdmi so I can also use it for a selection of mini's such as The Spectrum, Amiga and Atari 400.

Now to reorganise my room to lay these all out.

Pixplz!

I find it somewhat infuriating that I can't simply plug inputs into all these mobile devices that I have lying around. They sure would be useful as little displays.

Yikes. £70 though! But I guess that's the price you pay for something that can handle all the inputs properly.
I recently got an LG 27" monitor with a couple of HDMI and DVI inputs, but no oldskool inputs, which is kinda infuriating.
... and then realised it had no speakers, so had to buy a set of desktop speakers for the first time since pre-2012!!!

Yea, not the cheapest. I was looking at the security screens on ebay, very similar and cheaper...but a bit too much like Temu cheap if you know what I mean.

I saw a youtuber pick up a small screen for a fiver which prompted me, but his only had a composite video input.

Thought I'd go with something new (ish) this time. Much better than my 2000's camper van lcd TV...it has an aerial and would pick up analogue TV if it still existed. Large 12v power brick too, this modern one has a smaller wall plug type thing.
