Question of the Day : February 1st

What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
Thu, 01 Feb 2024, 03:02
Jayenkai

I'm not the adventurous type.

When I was a little tyke, up to age 7 when we moved, we had two great nearby parks. One out the front, one out back. Swings, Slides, Climbing frames, all within easy reach.
Nice long walks and grassy fields to play in. It was all right there for us.
.. Maybe that's a bad thing, not enough risks in life, but as a kid it was awesome to play out with your friends in a nice safe-enough area!

The Google Pin that says "Merehall View" is exactly where our house used to be. There used to be two terraces there, back to back, and that end one was ours.
The council bulldozed the 1800's terraces to make way for what it is now. Everyone on the street was given a hefty (at the time) amount to pay for new homes, and we all went our separate ways.
Aaah, the memories..

I guess the most adventurous thing I've done since is everything that happened last year, with the recent house-move.. And you've all read more than enough about that!

If you could have a classic video game-themed amusement park, what rides and attractions would you include andwhy?
Sat, 03 Feb 2024, 02:08
Jayenkai
It wouldn't last.
It'd be shut down for Health and Safety, because all the kids would keep getting injured on all the sharp corners of the giant pixels.

Question of the Day : February 6th

What are some of the books, movies, shows, or music that you have enjoyed recently and why?
Tue, 06 Feb 2024, 02:13
Jayenkai
TV : Quantum Leap. This second season is much better without the constraints of the first year's Mystery Box stuff. I'm glad the new show runners opted to get rid of that once it was done.
Movies : I watched Turtles : Mutant Mayhem the other day, that was alright.
Books : Last book I read fully was Quantum Leap : Pulitzer. They were doing a review on the Podcast, so I figured I'd better read it. Quite a good novel, and makes me want to track down a few more. They're from the original QL era, though, so tracking them down is PDF or eBay!!
Music : This is the most recent track I've added to my JPicks playlists. And this is January's JPicks playlist

Question of the Day : February 10th

What is your all-time favorite classic video game and why does it hold a special place in your heart?
Sat, 10 Feb 2024, 03:36
Jayenkai
I'm always writing Manic Miner, so let's have a different game, this time.
Frontier : Elite II, and the many many hours, days, weeks and months that it ate out of my time with my Amiga.
So much creativity thrown down the drain as I sailed endlessly between worlds and traded all the wondrous products.
