Mice: MS vs Logitech

I always buy Logitech mice. For me, they simply work and last for years. A couple of years ago, I broke down and bought a couple of MS mice, simply because I liked the pink and I could not find that color in Logitech at the time. I just started using one of the MS mice less than a year ago and it is already broken. The right mouse button (the one I use the least) is not working properly. Less than a year and the button I do not use very often is the one that breaks? Oddly enough this makes sense when using MS logic.

Thankfully I keep several new mice on hand, and am happily using a Logitech mouse. I still have 2 new MS mice, but I am not remotely happy with the lifespan. Will likely pick up a couple of more Logitech mice when I can find them in the color I want. Found some nice Lavender Logitech mice once I moved here, and have stocked up, but since the MS ones will soon break, I need more replacements on hand. I will never deviate from Logitech again. Lesson learned.

Mouses...
Having been exclusively laptop for the past decade, I haven't needed much mouse-work. However, I have bought ONE mouse in the time since, and I don't regret my purchase in the slightest.

I have a Logitech mouse for my desktop, and a small MS mouse for when the touchpad on my laptop isn't good enough. I would say that they both have worked equally well, but now you mention it, I have gone through 4 MS mice (2 on my desktop before buying the Logitech, and 2 on my laptop), but the Logitech one is the only one I've ever own.

I've been using a microsoft arc mouse for a couple of years now, I like it as a desktop mouse. The only issue I have is that now and then the bluetoth on my PC just doesn't work properly and I get both mouse and keyboard lag. I've had a look around for a similarly designed mouse with a dongle, but no such luck.

MS mice also seem to really go through batteries compared to the Logitechs.

I am on laptops only, but even though the trackpads really kick ass now, I am too used to mice and the trackpad is just not as intuitive for me. One day I need to spend a weekend, practicing, especially the right clicks, etc.

I find trackpads work best when the laptop is literally on your lap. As soon as I try using it on a desk (which I recently did when playing No Man's Sky, because the MacBook gets toasty!!) I find myself instinctively reaching for a mouse that isn't there. Very odd!

A bit out of left field but I picked up a bunch of Gigabyte M6800's a few years ago as they were a great combo of cheap (~£15 a mouse), comfy and with enough buttons for me, also nice and wired, nyom.

My logitech keyboard has lasted over 10 years now and is still all good

This is still my favourite mouse, out of all the mouses I've had over the years.
Lasted ages, too, which was unusual for wired mouses. The wires were ALWAYS the weak point, for me, but this one just kept on powering on.

I have a wired Apple keyboard new in the box that I bought about nine years ago. Extremely good keyboard. And it will be used for my audio/video editing system.

Current fave keyboards:

I am at the point where I need a lighted keyboard to see it better. Both of these are nice, The larger USB one has excellent action. The smaller one, is better than most mini keyboards.
