Godot and GDScript

It does not seem I wil be able to use the old languages in the future. Monkey2 seems to have gotten broken on the Mac a user reported. There was no official update for a long time now. The last time I used Cerberus it did not seem to work 100%. I have now taken a longer look at Godot.

I had installed it from steam a while now and it kept getting updated. Yesterday I spend a couple of hours watching youtube tutorial video's. Unlike any blitz like language there are quite a bunch for Godot.

The first thing I looked at was is the Tile editor. This was pretty easy to set up. Set up the 2d tilemap and load a image with tiles on it. Then it was easy to set it up to be able to draw the tiles on a map.

I looked at the build in language and it does not seem that hard to get used to. A procedural generation video tutorial showed this is easy to do.

There seems to be build in support for Github. Also for threading, which is handy since the core count is starting to get higher now with 6 to 8 cores on laptop(s) that I would be getting next(ai) Also 3d is something that godot has. Html export is a thing I noticed also.

On this first deeper look I had not been able to find everything needed to get started quickly. But there seems to be enough information to dig into it.

I am not sure how fast I wil be getting comfortable with it. I want to spend as much time learning to get better with pixelart and music.

I think godot is my next tool!

I've started with Game Maker Studio 2, although the name makes it sound like an educational game from the 90s it is actually powerful and some popular games have been made with it, prison architect is one I believe
