What's the best Amiga emulation setup these days? I've been out of the loop for a few years. I want the best looking most powerful couldn't afford one settings!

I haven't done Amiga Emu in such a long time, but WinUAE is still my preferred method.

The scripted amiga emulator can be done from the browser. i think you can plug the original kickstart roms with it. It defaults to the open source rom.

I bought amiga forever. Nice and easy to use but it costs. It also only has a year or so of free updates. Mine expired already but everything stil works.

Winuae is free.

For windows the Winuae is the most advanced one. The alternatives are FSUAE and WinFellow.

While FSUAE is based on WinUae, winfellow is a completely different emulator at all.

The difficulty is getting hold of all the various kickstart roms.
If you buy the $20 version of Amiga Forever, it comes with all the roms.
.. Then, you know.. Back them up!!!

Amiga Forever uses WinUAE, and officially (apparently!) licensed kickstart roms.

I kept the old Amiga forever that came with Retro Gamer that time, I think it was limited to basic A500, but that's probably enough for most games to work wouldn't it?

Aye, that's plenty.
Be sure to update the installed version to the latest WinUAE, and everything should be good to go.

www.winuae.net for the newest.

Even your Amiga Forever .version should have kicks 1.2, 1.3, 2.04 and 3.1 And these cover almost every amiga gaming need.

And the tip with Google playstore is, as well, nice, if you have a device which is using it, and can back it up to your PC:
