Has anyone here dealt with generating Royal Mail 2D Data Matrixes with PHP before? It's been driving me crazy for the last few days and nothing I do seems to get it to work correctly.

Is it just me or are they a fecking nightmare to code up?

Royal Mail are being absolutely no help whatsoever, of course. Gahhh!

Barcodes annoy me... This little annoyance stems from school... Basically, in Computer Studies, we eventually got around to doing programming, which, I was in my element, best classes I ever had... Shame it was only for 2 lessons and we moved onto barcodes and their scanners... I'm talking lesson after lesson, it didnt half drag on.

Anyway, I refused to do any work after the first 3 or 4 lessons, I was bored... This ended up with a major argument with the teacher, because I refused to do anything I was threatened with a trip to the head, so, I not so politely pointed out that nobody gives a shit how barcodes work, not even people that use them, they just go "beep", "beep", "beep" not giving a fuck, we do something decent for 2 lessons, and thats it, so, a trip to the head would be far better then putting up with this bullshit of a lesson.

Fireworks, major... He told me to get in the real world, lol, and there I was dragged to the head teachers office, called a spoilt little brat, and for my troubles on a break time I had to go and stand outside his office for about a month, on top of a weeks solid after school detention!

Tell ya, if I see that baldy bastard now, I'll be like "Here you baldy ****, remember that ginger little kid you called a spoilt little brat, well, he's the same size as you now, so... You wanna have another go at him you fucking prick?"

That was one of many many arguments, we didnt get on at all, he used to wait for me at the main entrance and as soon as I got off the bus he was like "Have you got your project?", if I went "Yeah!", he'd want a look, then say it wasnt good enough and slap it back to me, if I said "No", he'd frog march me to his class room for a bollocking, I actually give up in the end for for the last two years of school I never bothered going!

As it goes, the joy of kicking him up the arse would be immense!!!

So yeah, barcodes... I hate the fucking things, bring me nowt but fire in my belly!

Sorry. What has Royal Mail got to do with barcodes? I know they use them, but they didn't introduce/invent them did they?

Ehh,it's some tracking information on standard letters / other bits of post. The crazy thing is, the other thing I'm working on at work is a stock control system / epos thingy that uses....you've guessed it, barcodes!

Ahhh, things...
