Are there any popular handhelds for homebrew? OUYA would have made a good handheld... But I don't have the patience or skill level for that.

Android is probably your best bet, nowadays. That seems to be the thing of choice for most "Emulation Heaven" devices, anyway. I got an Archos 2 GamePad from amazon, but they seem to have disappeared. The JXD thingumy is the next closest, but I'd look into specs before picking one. Once you've grabbed one, it is in essence a portable OUYA. If you compile your Monkey game with "Android" instead of "Android (OUYA)" then it works fine. Be sure to enable "#ANDROID_GAMEPAD_ENABLED=True" though! -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

Registering as a Sony developer will apparently let you develop for PS Vita, but I kinda stopped dead in my tracks because I couldn't figure out if Sony wanted me to be an actual company or not (unlike Microsoft with their ID@XBox) program. I'm sure you have nothing to lose by trying though

I dev for GP2X, Wiz, Caanoo, Pandora and any Android handheld with GLBasic. Obviously includes iOS and Windows tablets too.

I remember wanting a gp32/2x/wiz back when they came out, but never really bothered. The controls looked a little odd I think. Are they any good?

The Caanoo has the best controls - which includes analogue and digital. The GP2X F100 (black one) has an awful stick, whereas the F200 (white one) has a good DPad and touchscreen. The Wiz has a DPad and touchscreen, but the form factor is a tad small, but the screen is gorgeous - OLED. I love them all in their own way, but the Wiz and the Caanoo are both awesome. I have them all, so this is an unbiased (but personal) opinion. |

Wiis are going for less than £30 on eBay. Caanoos are going for a bit more - on eBay You'll be lucky to pick one up for less than £100. Mine cost £55 a couple of years back and even then that was a steal. So in answer to your question, probably not! |
