Wednesday Workshop #093 : The Future Challenge
Time until Deadline

Week : 28 March 2007
The Reason : Suggested by Mael

The Challenge : Create a game based on life in the future.

Extra Info
Go as little or as far into the future as you wish.

Weekly Rules/How to Enter
You have until Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning 00:00 BST to submit your levels. ^ See Deadline Link! ^

Wed.Workshop is at SoCoder.co.nr. If you can read this, you're probably already there!

Stick your entry underneath this post, leaving a link to your zip or the source of your game, or whatever. (I really should get round to that Upload thing, shouldn't I!)

If you can't figure it out, or have a really rubbish server, send it to Jayenkai@Gmail.com and I'll stick it straight onto the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site.

Entries will be collected during the week, and entered into next week's voting. (If there are any entries..)
All entries will be entered into voting which will take place if there's more than one entry..

Please try to keep all entries within small file sizes. 2Mb is the average maximum for files.
Additional Rules are available at the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site, under the list of previous workshops.

Last Week's Games
Nobody had any photos, so no entries for the week.

What about a maths game next week? Or have we already had that one?

We've had the "Edutainment" challenge, which pretty much resulted in only Maths based entries.

I am actually doing ZeroG next week. Me and Magicman were discussing this last night, and couldn't decide which was better, Future or ZeroG, so.. We picked both

Whilst on the topic of Future workshops, in just under 2 month's time, it'll be Workshop #100. So, if you've any super suggestions for that, leave them here. ('cos we don't want every workshop topic filled with nothing but ideas for other workshops!)

How about for the Workshop #100 the challenge is to create a series of mini games based on some of the best previous Workshops, or something like that, i dunno, any other suggestions?

go for it Pieman.

make that Bakers' Dozen.

ahhhhh, a light bulb warms up and glows.
In an intro screen, you have a box of doughnuts.
Winchells donuts and plenty of maple bars too.
Anyway, you choose your doughnut. The doughnut
is taken out and crunched a little. And then a level
of a random or specific mini-game is introduced.
Inorder to sample other doughnuts, and the big pie
in the sky prize at the end
you must complete each level and with a good score or percentage.

cheers,
power mousey

How about a graphics quality challenge? Allow only values that are multiples of 32 (and the number 255) for the colors and see how appealing we can make our graphics?

we'd call it the 9^3 colors challenge!

Hmm.. Well, the whole "Finish it off" Month thing didn't quite start off very well. Seems we're getting no entries this week.

I did start something..

I didn't finish it off!

So, this week we have a choice.
Option 1 : We can go ahead as planned and have a Zero Gravity challenge.
Option 2 : We can do the "Remake an Atari 2600 Classic" challenge that sprang to mind whilst reading this months Retro Gamer article about the making of Pitfall.

Quick vote : One or Two? (With the other being kept away till next week)

*Stares back*

I made it a public vote.
1 vote = more than the number of entries this week, so that won.

Yours is next week, honest!
