Since Afr0 asked, I thought I should make a minimap of Little Lever Pink dots are pubs, where you can get ratarsed, or do that "socialising" gubbins.. Blue dots are "off-licenses" where you can buy your cans/bottles so you can sit alone in the house, watching Corrie and wishing your life was better than it is, just like a normal british person.. There's a fair number of pubs on the map, (and it was done off the top of my head, so apologies if I missed any!) but there's actually less there than there used to be, including one pub which got turned into a children's nursery!! I bet i know how they shut the kids up!!! (And, in fact, I've just remembered that one of them also recently got turned into an Estate Agents, so you can happily ignore one of the dots.. ... Although I won't say which one!!) Basically.. Yeah, we drink a lot! Even the small "it's not really a village, anymore" town of Little Lever has it's fair share of pubs. That's quite a lot! It must be difficult to be lonely and/or sober in the UK!
