If you're watching one movie this autumn, let it be the one about Alan Turing!

I've heard lots of great things about Guardians of the Galaxy. Apparently one of the best superhero movies in a long long time.

GOTG is good, but not the best superhero movie so far IMHO.

I loved Avengers Assemble, despite its slow start. However the original Iron Man and Captain America movies are tops for me.

BTW I live about a mile and a half from Bletchley Park.

I hope that comes out in the US as well!

Guardians is a very well done, very fun movie. It's not so much a superhero movie. It's really only a sci-fi or comic book movie in so much as it contains fantastical elements associated with comic books and sci-fi.

Afr0: If you really want pics of Bletchley Park from the outside I can bore you silly, but I'm not paying to go in just to take a few pictures of falling down old huts.

Here's a GoogleMap image of where I live in proximity to Bletchley Park

Well, 15 quid is a bit steep for that I suppose.

Website says they're restoring it to a world class heritage museum. I should go visit!
On another note, I'm baffled that none of you seem interested in this movie. Alan Touring is the reason personal computers even exist.

Has anybody said they're not interested? I know I am, but I expect the movie to focus more on his life as a homosexual and the shame (at the time) around it than the invention of computers.

Well, it's a museum about the heritage of Bletchley Park and the codebreaking that was done there, but they've removed an awful lot of the stuff that they originally did have on display. And don't expect to see or feel the secrecy of the place - there's nothing left.

And the huts are still falling down!

Until 20 years ago Bletchley Park was of no interest to anyone and was terribly neglected. I've been around the site (on work related business) on numerous occasions and seen the disrepair for myself and it really was shocking to see it left dying.

It is indeed being restored but in the same way that Trigger's broom was still brand new...
