Because, having seen MS's efforts on the Xbox side of things, I'd much rather have a bunch of unqualified unpaid geeks attempting the amazing, than have MS turn Kinect into nothing more than a giant arm-waving DPad.

 		7foot rule is for whole body pickup. If you're using it for hand, or more interestingly, eye tracking, you won't need the distance.

 		For eye tracking this could be pretty cool. Not only for games, but also for apps. Like the software I'm looking at could auto-focus, which is especially for us dual screen users. It's annoying having to alt+tab when I can see the app fully open and it's fullscreen!
