Socoder -> Question of the Day -> Man was not made for walking (at least not uphill)...

Lately I've been unable to walk more than 100 meters uphill before my back starts to schreech from pain.
My dad says I sit too much and walk too little, and the depressing thing is that even going to the gym doesn't seem to take care of it. I also have problems with my wrists.
Maybe I should go to a massage parlor?

What physical injuries have you sustained while/as a cause of programming?

You may want to go to the doctor, as it could be the beginning of something serious, such as joint problems.

I dunno what it is, but my shoulder hurts every once in awhile. Lasts for about half a day.

My mom thinks it might be a joint problem.

Aye, I have those too. I've found it helps to avoid resting your head on your hand when you're reading stuff on the computer, as well as making sure I'm not overworking myself in the gym.

If my toes get cold, usually from snow (eg, right now) they start to cramp up, and hurt like hell..
Other than that, they're fine.
I usually wear 2 pairs of socks when it gets this cold.
I'm not sure why I haven't, today.

It's snowing again!

Ooh thanks, I never would have thought that was the problem.

I'm trying to stop doing that anyway, it's causing major acne at this age XD

Unfortunately to see results from any exercise program, you have to work at it consistently for at least 6 weeks to get *some* results. I imagine it would help to work out some -- maybe a low impact workout like swimming would be the best for you.

My shoulder hurts after walking or running for too long. It's because one of my colar bones was broken and then healed out of place. My shoulder can also dislocate quite easily.

For you however I think it's one of two issues. First you might be walking with a bad posture. Second you might just need more exercise.

My knees also used to hurt when hiking. I did even more and they stopped hurting.

My hips hurt from time to time. If I can manage to pop my hip the right way, it'll go away for a time.

My mom tells me its growing pains.

I was always told the old "Growing Pains" bullcrap when I was a kid. When I was about 21, I discovered that I'm absolutely riddled with Arthritis.
