Health Update

Nothing new to add!

Just been up to Salford for my regular 6 month chat with Dr/Mr Leggate. (Google-fu for nosey peeps : Leggate Salford Royal )
The general gist was "well, if it's not gotten any better, then chances are it never will." Essentially, I'm stuck with the balance and sickness, and will have to just deal with it.

To be honest, I've known as much for a good year or so, and this isn't really news to me, but it's probably the first time I've seen him reluctantly give up on the situation! He's used to miracle cures and fixups, and seeing someone in my situation seems to have unnerved him, somewhat.

But hey, that's brain surgery for you. For all the docs have discovered, and understand about the brain, there's always going to be weird oddities like me!! I've coded over 80 games since my surgery, but if you try to get me to vacuum the living room, I'll need a sit-down halfway through!!

So, the doc seems happy and at his limits of knowledge, and isn't fussing about the issue anymore. I'll admit that I pretty much expected that, and am quite happy that, although my situation is kinda shitty, that it's a fuckton better than it could've very easily been.

I'm getting out and about a little more often, have started shaving more regularly (used to be a struggle to stand at the bathroom sink for so long, but .. It's getting easier!) and I've even attempted to cook a few dinner/tea's for me and mum.
I'm on the mend. I have a long long way to go, but ...

Meh!

Glad to hear that it's getting better, even if just by tiny bits.

What doctors do not know about the brain, often works to the advantage of people with various traumas and disorders, because the brain is quite magical in its ability to rewire itself and relearn things.

I am very glad you are doing as well as you are.

You're still with us and that's all that really matters.

It's great that despite your issues you are still making progress and trying. I work with people that have suffered a lot less and have given up, so yay for Jay!
