Python through Visual Studio Code

After getting that new laptop and getting back with Windows I decided to check out Visual Studio Code. This turns out to be a very good(free) editor. It does javascript which I use it for. And anything you throw at it it seems.

I installed python through Visual Studio Code. There is a whole plugin system in Vsc. The installing of the python plugin was very easy to do. Almost a automatic process. I then tried to run a Python Minecraf clone from github. I needed to do a bit of googling. But a command line install through the console of something made it run.

Pygame was installed without a problem also.

There is a copilot plugin for vsc. But this costs $$ and payment methods are credit card based iirc.

Is it nicer than Programmers notepad?

I have not used that. I was using notepad++ before.

Visual studio code was easy to install. Just select from the windows store and go.

If you right click a .html file on Mac, then head to the Open With, then "TextMate", the Xcode option is RIGHT below it..
Every so often I accidentally click the wrong one, and then have to spend 36 hours waiting for Xcode to open.
A right pain in the arse.

As much as VisStudio is "handy", I'll always opt for the quick-loading plain text editor, over anything else.

Ahhh so it still doesn't get by the wait 30 seconds for it to load up fully, check your profile is linked up to a licence of some sort, then allow you to edit a text file then?

Programmers Notepad is fairly instant like TextMate which is handy
