Socoder -> Question of the Day -> QOTD: Level names

Do you think it's important for game levels to have names?

It depends on the genre, of course, but take puzzle games as an example. If you have 100 levels, naming them all would take time -- is it worth the trouble?

Well, obviously it depends on the type of game, but I love games with titled levels. Obviously if they're loads of little tiny levels, then it might not be worth it, but usually something to help guide the player, or even confuse the player might be a bit of fun to play with.

Depends on if it's a good name or a bad name. If it has a name I'd also expect a full theme for the level.
