What is needed to start programming for PlayStation2 or GameCube. I think it would be interestingly cool to do it. What would I need to purchase(hardware/software) and whatever else. Thanks.

For the PS2 it's a case of going for Mod Chips, and since those are pretty much illegal, (depending on where you are in the world) I don't think we should go any further into it.

For Gamecube, you need Phantasy Star Online, a Broadband connector, a PC and a bit of fancy rerouting trickery.
It's a little odd to do, but it can be done.

If you have a Wii, you can apparently load Cube Homebrew stuff onto there, using an SD card, a Gamecube SD->Memory connector, and a few other little bits.

Apparantly, PS2s can be programed in something called YABASIC (Yet Another BASIC).

I presume that the PS2 can be programmed in other languages as well, then?

However hard I look on that site, I can't find what language it's talking about. Is it not there, or am I just being ignorant?

I'm going to do a googa too...but on freeware/shareware role playing games.

see you there.
