I'm at work now so can't post a picture, but I got a repeat of the simple red and white present as seen on another day. The only difference is that the "bow" on the top is red, not yellow.

Here's the one from earlier, so you get the idea.

These repeat more often than the BBC

Money Maze

Concept
Collect all 8 coins from the maze without getting killed by the ominous blobs.

Controls
Movement for Movement!

Comments
Another game that really could've done with better balancing.
Once you hit level 3 or 4, the game starts to get trickier, but up until then it's quite a snoozefest.
I could probably have also done with some decent AI!

Either? (Not that I'm at all familiar with the pr0n genre).

Reduce the Total to meet the Target.

Controls

I came up with this idea about 6 months ago, but never got around to trying it out.
It's not a bad concept, and occasionally gets you thinking, but I feel like it still needs something a little extra, to get the brain-cells flowing a little faster.
I may revisit this game, later.
For what it's worth, I know a lot of people won't enjoy this game, but I like it

Is there a minifig? If so, could it be Kuron, outside, shovelling the snow??!

Nope, no mini-fig. That's all there was.

Strangely enough, this set doesn't have any mini-figs - despite the original boxart showing two...

You want to be careful with that lot. Last time we had Christmas Critters, it was that South Park episode!! (Season 8, Episode 14 "Woodland Critter Christmas")

I thought the blocks were all white earlier (yep, you guessed right with snow) - now it looks like someone has made a couple of patches of yellow snow too. And what that brown thing is is anyone's guess...

So, you guessed it was a snowman right?

Those are the best types of white Christmas - they are warm, dry and don't require much shovelling!

Yeah, I said that up above -

Can you imagine how happy Little Johnny would be to open his calendar this morning and get this? No I can't either.

I said it last year too

It really is awful isn't. I know it's not LEGO and no other building block comes anywhere close to the quality, but they could at least do a complete model everyday, even if they were simpler. Kids are an impatient lot and waiting to complete a model over two or three days loses it's shine very quickly.

I only paid a few quid for this (plus double for postage) and I'm enjoying it purely because I knew it is crap (and worse even than the original image I bought it for - BONUS!). A person with limited income getting this for their kid hoping for something for them to build and play with is likely to be incredibly upset when Little Johnny can't do feck all with any of it - or worse ignores it completely.

As someone who can't enjoy chocolate (due to migraines) I absolutely LOVE the fact that kids could now enjoy a little bit of Lego every morning.

... And me, too

If only I could subscribe to a monthly box of such goodies. That'd be fun!

I was marginally disappointed with today's selection, so I dug deep into the "Growing lump of spare bits they give you every day in the calendar" pile, dug out a couple of little bits, and made this..

I agree. I'd sign up straight away

Jangbrix receives a random pieces selection each month, but it's not the same as having proper models to make; I should know, with this Advent calendar!

Yeah, to be fair Jay, both of those are a tad on the "not the best presents from a LEGO Advent calendar ever" side of things.

I was (and still am) a massive fan of LEGO, and tbh a lot of the pieces in this calendar are much more advanced than what I grew up with too - there are colours and shapes of bricks that I could only have dreamed of back then.

The quality of these bricks isn't the problem though (I mentioned earlier, that they are actually very good) - it's the piss-poor models coming in partial daily doses whis is not particularly kid friendly.

Yeah, kids will be kids - they'll enjoy the strangest things. Doncha just love 'em!
