Yep. Making devs jump through hoops. And making them pay for the privilige to do so. That's Apple. Bless :D

Why do people bother?!! Even if you do all that, they screw up your program with constant updates that break your app! Who*snip*

Totally agree. Hate them.

Windows 8 Extra Snappy

I agree Steve, that slow fades and animation don't belong in an Operating System. We have incredible power in computer systems compared to the old computers of yesteryear - why throw that away?

GTA 5 on PC Tomorrow!!

I don't have a PS3, but have a decent PC :D
I guess you could play both games if you did...Not sure what time would be left for coding though lol.

GTA 5 on PC Tomorrow!!

Sadly a lack of funds so I won't be buying tomorrow, but it's on my purchase list :)
The FPS view is a welcome addition - as well as the improved visuals.

Windows 8 Extra Snappy

13th April 2015

Usually I do, just took me a bit longer to get around to adjusting those settings this time - makes such a difference. And I do agree with the opening lines of that article - Windows 8.1 flies!! lol I leave shadows on - just not all this animation/fade n*snip*

Windows 8 Extra Snappy

13th April 2015

After writing some code that should execute in a nano second, I noticed the Windows fade-in effect was slowing it down. I disabled it - plus the animation and slides too. I hate these things that slow down Windows, Matrix styley - I much prefer the snappy*snip*

Classic Book (updated)

Interestingly (and not surprisingly) intructions for compiling the example code are for Unix.
I could use other software, but thought why not use the similar Linux on the raspberry pi as I work through the book. Works well :)

Raspberry PI 2 Case

If it still says scanning - then it hasn't finished! Let it complete it's scan. If you have entered the PSK and saved those settings, then next time it will connect without scanning. I set it up once, now everytime I go online it simply works.

Raspberry PI 2 Case

10th April 2015

No probs.
Yes, initially it takes a while to do a scan. But once it's set up (leave it work away) and you have saved the settings, it connects instantly next time.
Bad connection?? Try again.
I bought this one and no problems.

Spinal it now has a quadcore processor so is much faster - 6 times. And I've never had graphics tearing on any Pi...Maybe yours was faulty.

Classic Book (updated)

I always prefer a written book to refer too, and I doubt this version is available for free. Also it's widely known as a classic book - and therefore worth owning :)
And yes lol I learnt C some years back too! But it's a nice reference for my r*snip*

It's a pet project of mine - something I've always wanted to do; so I'm not thinking it'll make me rich. I think I've got some good ideas and a worthwhile piece of software in progress.
Well for a start I don't like the way Unity *snip*

Engine (code) Safety

Paid for updates are a must. We all saw how BRL's business plan failed - they just bring out a completely different language every few years - which annoys the users of the previous language.

Engine (code) Safety

4th April 2015

Interesting question - they ask for an update? It does muddy the waters when it's not just an engine - but a language and engine combined.
So basically I want control over a consistent system. If everybody can change the engine (but not the language*snip*
