Today was a good day, I managed to get the player animation done and the Main Menu screen now works again.

I would say check for firewall software (no point if using a normal router setup) some firewall softway like to block everything and ask later.
The port i think you mean is 138 and 139 from the good old netbios days. Check each machine has the same proto*snip*
