@rockford: Spare tyre definitely not required so carrying a faulty spare can't be illegal, I know it's definitely illegal to drive with it fitted though. Might need to get the tyre shop to ping another one on the spare while I have the replacement wheel sorted. £60 for the wheel, £55 per tyre, that's been an expensive trip. Was gonna grab some Diesel while I was out but after the crash I thought "what's the fuckin' point!"

On a better note though I've managed to remain calm after that, I just said Bulbz to it.

Thanks Brice. I'm OK. I think my mum and sister werw more shook up than I was, still waiting for the replacement wheel to arrive so I can get a new tyre pinged on it. There doesn't seem to be any other damage and it got us back home in a straight line, I am going to jack it up an test the inner rack joints, tie rods and lower arms before I drive to the tyre shop just in case there's something I've not discovered yet.

The glider in the pic, I completely redid in the early summer. All new wood and new paint (in HoJo Colors). Wonderful view sitting with my Honey on nice evenings.

Was laughing last night when UPS came with some packages and then headed up our hill. Even with chains on the tires, the truck was sliding around. He was having to give it so much gas to keep from slipping back down the hill, the chains were kicking up a huge shower of sparks like using a grinder on steel. Pyrotechnics!

At least you're getting a White Christmas; most of us here in the UK will be getting a Wet Christmas.

Just seen this on the BBC news - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64061588

Been great fun last night and today watching vehicles try and make it up and down the hill. Most trying to make it up, end up sliding back down backwards or sideways. Thankfully no accidents or anybody hurt, yet... And there are barriers keeping people from sliding on the train tracks way at the bottom of the hill.

@Brice - Fingers crossed that what you have now is as bad as it gets.

@Steve - Yay. Not too big a financial outlay, I hope.

Come to just over £108. The tyre on the damaged wheel was still OK to put on the spare rim, brand new one on the replacement rim, and the tracking had to be reset.

Plus £59 for the rim off ebay.

Crossed fingers and prayers definitely worked. We only got an additional dusting of snow. Nothing close to what they said we could get, just the brutal cold and some light mixed snow and ice into Saturday morning. Snow should start melting next Tuesday when it warms and starts raining for much of the week. Woohoo! Will be able to get out and get supplies for my Birthday and Brice's Eve!

On another note, the AP posted a lovely article about how bad the storm is here hitting most of the USA. But, the first picture they show is of a Vet cemetery in North Dakota. WTF? I love and honor our vets, but none of these fine and brave folks are remotely being inconvenienced by the storm.

Still amazed in that article as to how many people in vehicles got hit by falling trees. Glad we do not have any trees on our property.

Got up early this morning to let the dog out, and saw that "freezing fog
was actually almost an inch of snow, which sucked as I needed to go out today. Went back to bed, woke up around noon, the snow was gone and I was able to go out. Woohoo!

Country is getting slammed again, but we are lucky only supposed to get a bit of snow on my birthday (5th) and supposed to be above freezing in the daytime for the next two weeks. :c)
