i just found out that the original version of worms was made in blitz basic..

Yeah, the original Worms was written by Andy Davidson, and submitted to Amiga Format in a Make-A-Game compo.

It lost.

But Team17 really liked it, and the rest is history.

Yeah, I was told about this a few years ago. I originally thought that it was programmed in AMOS, until I was promptly corrected.
