I never knew the company was a French owned company as well. Thought it was American.

I always thought it was American too until I read this (Linkage), although I originally thought it was Japanese when I was a kid.

It was a US company...well, actually it was TWO US companies. The arcade division went under and currently rests with Time Warner. The home electronics division went under and was bought by Infogrames, who then called themselves Atari instead, and who is now apparently going under.

This Infogames, is it related to Infocom, the game maker that created the popular Zork series?

Not in any way. Their first release that I saw was Alone in the Dark.

...Infocom was purchased by Activision, who eventually let the trademark lapse. Now some German guy owns the name Infocom.

Hope he does something with the titles that he owns.

The whole concept of text only games is not really out of date. That format would be good for schools possibly getting children, and others, to read more.

Yes. It is out of date, unless it's Dwarf Fortress.
Heck, some day soon I'm sure they'll come around to 3D as well!

I did not mean that the Zork Series was not out of date, I meant that the style of a text only game was not out of date with regard to being a reading experience.

(The German guy just owns the name Infocom, Activision still owns all the Infocom IP)
