Actually once I got the really brutal bits fixed, the rest mostly slotted into place. The site more or less works fine in IE 8 and 7. I have a seperate CSS file with only 50 lines of CSS specific for IE 8 and 7, which is tiny considering the CSS for the whole site is over 4,000 lines!

In IE 6 it's totally ruined; and not in way at all. But that is because I heavily use big CSS selectors using the child selector, which IE 6 does not support. So most of my CSS just does not work.
