Socoder -> Off Topic -> limit windows desktop size?

I have recently downloaded a sidebar for windows(xp), having reinstalled windows, I thought id try all sorts of cusomizing software. Anyhow I lik it, but when i maximize applictaions, they usually disappear behind the sidebar, leaving about 5cm of the window unusable, uncluding the scrollbar!

So, does anyone know of a tool that can limit the size of my desktop, so that I can have maximized windows leave a gap at the side? This would also be useful for when I get sick of the sidebar, I could leave some ov my desktop icons down the side, so they are always accessable even when the windows are maximized.

Any decent sidebar software should resize the desktop to it's own size. .. I'm not really sure why the one you're using isn't doing that.

The one I use Autohides itself, but only emerges if you actually click on the very side of the screen. and I also shoved it on the left, too..
Basically, it means you can go about your business, ignoring it.. But if you need it, tap the side of the screen and it's always there..

Yo! Wazzup?
I don't know what you mean exactly by "sidebar", but assuming you're using the "toolbars" thingy in Windows, here are some instructions..

(By the way, I don't think this post will be of any help to you )

Right-click on the sidebar, select preferences, uncheck the "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" checkbox, hit apply then ok.
