Civilization 1 tileset

I got sucked into a youtube stream where Nookrium was playing the old Civilization 1. I then started watching more let's plays of civilization 1 and 2 and started collecting reference images of the game. During this time I started creating a tileset based on civ 1 in aseprite.

There are a whole bunch of tiles inside the original game. I am not sure how they did it originally with things like mountains and hills tiles but I do not mind drawing a bunch extra.

I have used the dawnbringer palette and kept the tiles inside the 16x16px size.

I noticed that on the day when I started working on these tiles and posted progress on twitter someone also made a civ 1 tileset but for freeciv. Which was kind of funny.

I wil be using my own civ tiles for future board war games that I wil be programming.

A nice set of tiles. They can be really hard to make, especially with all the blending, and the need to stay within the "grid".
Good job!

OOOOOooooh this is REALLY nice

Civ 1 is still my favourite Civ game and I still play it once a month or so!

I tried FreeCiv on my mobile, it was pretty good but too Civ 5 for me!
