always a lack of artwork

I have been working on Vesuvius now for like 2 years or so. Its been a lot of work, and there's always more I can be working on.

One of the advantages to doing Vesuvius has been the limited need for artwork. I'm always struggling to create decent art for any of my projects, but Vesuvius only needs a few icons and the map tile squares (some were swiped from Google search results). I've had dozens of projects fail because I don't have decent artwork for them. It seems to always happen that way.

I'm starting to think its because I have no tools to create what I'm really after. Nothing I can use to get it done in the short timespan I have available. My usual strategy is to focus on developing the code first, then hopefully pull in a motivated person to focus on the graphics. But by the time I have something going, I start needing the graphics, in some form or other, and I'm unable to create what I'm after.

Vesuvius is possibly reaching that stage now. I'm finding a need to use larger map squares, but that'll mean redoing all the tiles I've made so far. But man, there's so much more I could do if I had a decent artist, its not even funny.

Does anyone know anyone who would want to make the artwork for games?
