Blockman 2? Never mind...

It's not very often I ask for help!

OK, the plan thus far is to turn Blockman 2 into a clone of Bouncer.
I tried this a long while ago, but at the time my platforming skills weren't up to the job of keeping so much stuff going at once, and occasional out-of-bound array things happened..
..
Hopefully I'm better at that kind of thing, now, so I'm giving it another go.

And, since the Blockman characters already hop and bounce around, I figured I could reuse them in this game.

Here's the old one. Super Bouncer

It's not bad, but it's not great.
Needs work, and that's what I'll be aiming for. Only with Blockman sprites instead of Platdude+Football ones.

The main problem with redoing the game, though is that it needs levels. Properly designed levels at that, not simplistic pseudo-random ones.
So if anyone's willing to try making levels for the game, stick your name below and once I've got the finalised game style going, I'll PM you with the super-early-alpha version, and you can play with the levels in notepad for a while.

More info as it happens. (Right now it's merely a bunch of sprites without any code... Which wasn't too hard since they were all nabbed from Blockman in the first place!)

Hmm... Never mind..
I've been playing with the engine quite a bit, and a somewhat different type of game has emerged.

And this one lets me use pseudo-random levels

Blockman Duo : Coming soon.

And, never mind again!
Having tweaked and tweaked again, I've come to the inevitable conclusion that trying to keep two players going at once is a bit tricky, coupled with the fact that 1 buttons games aren't actually that much fun.

Project abandoned.

Project lifespan : About 5 hours.

abandoned?

I'm sorry for Bouncer.
hmmmmm....how about a detective/crime fighting duo
and in the style of Cagney and Lacey, McMillian and Wife,
Batman and Robin, and Top Dog. Seriously, police fighting crime duo of Chuck Norris and a mutt.

Bouncer and Blockman.
one bounces and the other blocks.

...Well geez Jay, I was about to recommend you create a level editor for end users and some way to share them with others. But I guess you've already abandoned the project. Nevermind! ...lol
