For those who didn't already know, I did a quick JNKPlat Xmas edition for the DS a couple of weeks ago. I figured, if I was going to enter the Drunken Coders compo, that would be the best option to go for. ... The entries to the compo that I've played so far would probably just about pass as Wed.Workshop entries, let alone full proper real compo entries. Slightly disappointed by this, I decided to go for broke, did myself a WW style game, and then swiftly entered it into the compo! hehe 4 hours work = 1 cracking game. I took the basic idea from the "Alien Breed" style game I've been off/on working on for a while. Essentially you run around the area shooting aliens.. Only they're not aliens, they're snowmen. And your shooting snowballs at 'em. And there's prezzies for powerups, and a constant ticking timer. It's not much, but it's more playable than "Move Parcel Up a Bit" I'll probably still lose!

Jayenkai	Drunken Coder's 2007 Xmas Compo Entries Here's my quicky reviews of each game, along with a rough score, so's you can see how badly I think I'm going to lose The Christmas Turkey Brilliant platformer.. Can't be beat! 6/5! Saving Santa Lovely game. Catch the stuff in bubbles. 5/5 Santa's Challenge Lovely "Get the prezzies" maze game. Not as neatly presented as Snowflakes but a much better puzzler, methinks. 5/5 Snowflakes Wonderfully presented 3D maze game. 5/5 VirusDS XmaSS Edition Nice game. Plays like a strategy based puzzle version of Atoms. 4/5 Uummarmiut Nice design, shame about the gameplay. Desperately needs a "Level Complete" thing. 4/5 Present Factory A puzzler that wasn't as good as it could've been. Good attempt. 3/5 Snowman Attack A little repetitive, but fun. 3/5, but only 'cos it's mine! Scogger Another nice maze puzzler, but "-40 for no Xmas Theme" 3/5 Leo Toddler Another obvious Old Game + Xmas Theme. Not bad, but not super fun! 3/5 Bauble Break A Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble knock off, but not quite as good as it should be. 3/5 JNKPlat Not very Xmassy, and obviously the theme was thrown together in 10 mins. 3/5 'ramming Santa I'm sure it's nice, but damn that's a slow game! 3/5 Lily and the lost angel Neat little Shoot-em-up. Bastardly hard, though! 2/5 X-mas Gifts A nice concept, but could've been so much better. 2/5 Halo NDS Beta Terrible game. Could so easily have been a decent "Point+Shoot" thing, but missed.. 1/5 XmasPede Centipede, just like on my Retro Collection.. ONLY REALLY REALLY SLOW!! 2/5 Evil Santa Attacks! Really pathetically repetitive.. 0 gameplay. 1/5.. only for the Xmas theme. Snowfall Demo A demo of snow. Not much of a game, really. 1/5 Entry This is a awsum gaim. 1/5 Santas Robot Helper Absolutely bloody awful. 0/5 Terrible file format, Awful gameplay, not even proper jump "Hold to float"! Wecker DS X-Mas Edition It's a fucking alarm clock. 0/5 PuzzleManiak AGAIN.... If this wins, I'll give up ever entering any compos. This guy keeps releasing version after version, and then desperately tries to bodge it to fit any current compo's theme. -1000/5, for being a big fat attention seeking cheater!
