Socoder -> Wednesday Workshop -> #102 - The Lost Garden Challenge

Wednesday Workshop #102 : The Lost Garden Challenge
Time until Deadline

Week : 30 May 2007
The Reason : "Someone" suggested I make a workshop out of this, after I first posted a link to the sprites.

The Challenge : Grab the LostGarden Prototyping sprites from here, and then make a wonderful game with them.

Extra Info
You'll probably be wanting the png version of the sprites, unless you want to faff about with the vector versions.
And, of course, feel free to add some sprites of your own.

Weekly Rules/How to Enter
You have until Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning 00:00 BST to submit your levels. ^ See Deadline Link! ^

Wed.Workshop is at SoCoder.co.nr. If you can read this, you're probably already there!

Stick your entry underneath this post, leaving a link to your zip or the source of your game, or whatever. (I really should get round to that Upload thing, shouldn't I!)

If you can't figure it out, or have a really rubbish server, send it to Jayenkai@Gmail.com and I'll stick it straight onto the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site.

Entries will be collected during the week, and then entered into the next week's voting. (If there are any entries..)

Please try to keep all entries within small file sizes. 2Mb is the average maximum for files.
Additional Rules are available at the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site, under the list of previous workshops.

Last Week's Games
I was going to write about last week's three entries..
But that's week 100, and last week was 101.

Room 101 : The room you put things that you hate..

... Someone must hate Socoder and the Workshop!

Can you resize the images. Such as 64 pixels wide for example?

Yes, of course.. So long as the end result at least looks like you used them!
If you'd prefer to resize them a little smoother, don't forget that the vector based versions are available from the same site.

Did I really say 'make a WW with them'? Cos I can't find any post where I said that, and I don't remember...

Is anyone doing anything for this? I kinda started but the game I was doing requires a lot of AI which I haven't really done before so the chances of it appearing are probably nil.

I'd love to, but so far what I've got isn't really much of a game.

Having said that, that's how most of my Workshop entries start out!

... Then again, I've got about an equal number of unfinished ones, too!

I'm busy too. I've just moved back home (today) for the holiday, and I have three months to learn C++ (which I only really need to learn the basics), Haskell (which I really DO need to learn) and read a whole book on the workings and structure of operating systems (which does look really interesting).

That's not including my own personal projects which I want to work on and any other books I'm currently reading.

Unless there is a 'partially made, colourful RTS' themed Wednesday Workshop, I will not be entering any time soon.

power mousey

whats all this revise about?

rejuvenate and regenerate brain cells?

let me check google's gaggle of word definitions.

..... .... ... .. .

ahhhhh!!! and okay. duh!!! on my part.

the act of rewriting something.
to reconsider and change or modify.
to prepare a newly edited version(of text).

so in shroom's revised case

"Gah! Summer Exams start tomorrow... must
hit the books. Burn the midnight oil."

Bah, no time to finish off my entry.

Well, actually there's 2 hours left, and I could probably do it in that amount of time.. But I'm working on Plat some more.

... Any entries for this week?

And, welcoming any suggestions for week 103, since it's not the 2nd birthday like I thought.. It's actually 104.. (104th week would be the week of the end of the 2nd year, not the week of the start of the 3rd!. So it'd be 105.. Then subtract one for the time we had the two week workshop!)

I'm considering making it the "One Button challenge 2!" challenge... thoughts?
