Second set of pixel art spaceships

Last evening I opened up aseprite again. I first tried to draw a spaceship without reference but quickly found I really need a example. Again I looked up a Xenon 2 screenshot.

I am not that happy with how they all turned out. I want to try and create a new sheet later and see if I can get a better result. The metalic effect is something I stil have a lot of problems with.

I did get a better understanding of height(light) and depth(dark)

The sprites are in the 16x16 resolution using the dawbringer 32 palette.

I also noticed that if I looked at the sprites from a distance(bad eyes) I am getting ideas for future sprites. From close up they look a bit simple.

Earlier this year I bought this online pixelart book :

https://gumroad.com/michafrar

It teaches severel things that really can help you improve. It is only 9$. The things I try to do myself is putting enough hours into drawing(with references) Though my aseprite use has only been <50 hours yet.

When I draw a couple of hours in a day and go to bed and close my eyes I actually see flashes of artwork where I learn from also..
